James Roday as Nathan Drake?

line James Roday as Nathan Drake?

While I have yet to buy Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (financial issues, aka, I’m broke), I have had the opportunity to watch this series on USA Network called Psych.  Callan (my girlfriend) and I polished off the first 3 seasons over the last two weeks and so far I am thoroughly impressed.  James Roday stars as Shawn Spencer, lead Psychic Detective for the Santa Barbara Police Department.  If anyone reading this has seen the show, you no doubt know that James Roday can be quite the comedian.  His fast-paced, witty 80′s references fit him perfectly.  While slightly shorter than the Uncharted character Nathan Drake, I think James Roday would be perfect for the role given Roday buffs up just a little bit.  His attitude, personality, and humor fit the role to a tee and paired up with a great supporting cast, I think he would be ideal for the rumored Uncharted movie.  But don’t take my word for it…

James Roday….. brilliant choice to play Drake! It’s true, he’s a little on the smaller side, and maybe a little young (although that might actually be a help demographically). But that kid is as funny as they come…and his humor fits in great with Uncharted’s.

Agreed. As much as I enjoy Nathan Fillion, I just don’t think he looks right for Nathan Drake. Too large of a forehead, perhaps?

I thought I was the only one who thought this! Thank God I’m not crazy. After watching Psych up to season 4, I can say with all confidence, that James Roday is the perfect match. I find that he would be the best person who could pull off Nate’s humor at the same time portray a sly and clever character. The episode where he became a treasure hunter with his uncle jack was the eye-opener for me. With a few months of physical training and a hair make-over, we’ve got a Nathan Drake IRL.

Agreed. My only concern is his height, but with proper casting, and adjusting camera angles, etc., I think he would be perfect. he’s also a small enough actor that he wouldn’t command millions of dollars, but at the same time, he’s a good actor and he has 4+ season under him on a major network show. The Uncharted movie title will draw gamers in, while perhaps a few big names in supporting roles will draw the regular audiences…
